BILATERAL MARITIME EX KONKAN 2023
✓Konkan 2023, an annual bilateral naval exercise between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy, took place on 20-22 March 2023 off the Konkan coast in the Arabian Sea.
✓The guided missile frigate INS Trishul and the Type 23 guided missile frigate HMS Lancaster participated in this edition and conducted several sea exercises to improve interoperability and adopt best practices.
✓Exercises covered all aspects of naval operations, air, surface and underground and included firing at the inflatable surface paint "Killer Tomato", helicopter operations, anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare exercises, Visit Board Search and Seiseure (VBSS), ship. missiles and personnel.
✓The exercise provided excellent training value to the personnel of both navies. Its operation also showed a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm. ✓Focus personnel by introducing operational readiness, improving interoperability and improving the effectiveness of joint operations greatly supports the joint efforts of IN and RN to strengthen maritime security and maintain rules-based order in the region.
